Since Tamiya is behind this R/C M4 Sherman, authenticity in scale, body detailing, and working suspension goes without saying. Acoustic authenticity is also high on the score sheet, through the digitally recorded sounds of a real Continental R975-C4 9-cylinder engine, which roars from the bowls of the tank as it runs. And speaking of the running, you will be able to recreate all the speed and nimbleness of the full-sized M4 Sherman with state-of-the-art R/C technology.

Finally, with the addition of "Battle System" infrared tank scoring system, you can reenact one of the most classic military clashes of all time-Tiger vs. Sherman. *(Images show model after painting and assembly.)

2-Channel R/C System for Complete Range of Movement

1. Forward/reverse over wide range of speed. 2. Gradual turning, pivot turning, super pivot turning. 3. Rotation of turret, raising/lowering of cannon. 4. Illuminating head and taillights. 5. Cannon firing (w/light and sound effects). 6. Machine gun firing (w/light and sound effects). *For 3-6, tank must be in stopped position.

Roar of the Continental R975-C4 9-cylinder Engine

All the power of the real Continental radial engine can be experienced on Tamiya's new R/C M4 Sherman tank. Listen to the deep start-up sound followed by throaty idling, and then hear the auto-choke activate as the engine kicks over. As you put the tank through its paces, the sound of the engine changes, just like the real M4 Sherman. Firing of the cannon, machine gun, raising/lowering of the cannon, etc.-all the action is linked with sound for an unbelievably realistic tank experience. Well here's the good news: All the hard-core tank action on the popular 1/16 Scale R/C M4 Sherman can take place on 2 channels. Though this may be effecient, in order to initiate turret rotation, cannon elevation, cannon firing, front machine gun firing, and head-light engagement, the tank would have to be still. To overcome this limitation, Tamiya now shows how to upgrade the R/C M4 Sherman to 4 channels, letting you enjoy all the options while the tank is in motion. The DMD T-05 Control Unit and MF-02 Multi-function unit can be used with a 4-channel transmitter set. Using a 4-channel transmitter and receiver enables you to engage in the same type of simultaneous, on the run action previously available only with the Tiger I. Please note that the 1/16 Scale M4 Sherman kit does not include explanations concerning the 4-channel upgrade. (Cannon does not fire live ammunition).   Turret pivot, gun elevation While taking evasive action, the M4 Sherman's simultaneous turret pivot and gun elevation enable it to lock its sites on target. The M4 Sherman becomes all the more threatening when on the move.   Firing of the forward-mounted machine gun The R/C M4 Sherman can also fire its machine gun on the move. The firing sound and flash of the gun barrel are without a doubt- awesome.   Switching on the lights With the 4-channel upgrade you can freely switch lights on and off while the R/C tank is in motion.
